In just a five-minute journey across a deep-water cove, often greeted by stately blue herons poised at the shoreline or the distinctive fish-hawk ospreys soaring above, you can leave the world behind and transfer to this idyllic estate. You can travel at your own convenience, no waiting for public ferries for your commute back and forth to the island.
Island residents are served from a mainland parcel in nearby Smith Cove that holds a perpetual easement. Included is parking for five vehicles, three boat slips (one with a boatlift), one launching ramp and one barge slip. Potable water, lights, and electricity are provided for the mainland area. Distance from the mainland to the island is 0.6 miles in the protected Little Round Bay. Enclosed aluminum and open outboard boats are provided for your trip, with purchase of the island.
Access to the property is from a private pier on east side of the property or from an easement containing a freight landing bulkhead, stoned parcel, and a small concrete boat ramp on the south end of the island. The pier is partially protected by a permanent Sunbrella awning, has full electric and power, potable water, a shower, and lighting along the entire pier. A recent 140 foot pier extension can accommodate yachts up to 110 feet (note: not all pictures have been updated to show the recent addition). Three remotely operated electric boat lifts, ranging from 8,000 to 20,000 pounds, are located at the end of the pier. The slips are lit by motion detector upon approach of a boat at night. The freight landing bulkhead is designed to permit docking of a large barge from which large loads and vehicles may be offloaded.
The island is also accessible by helicopter on the island's emergency strip and there are many airports and airfields in close proximity.
